Recognise Your Ex as a Father

3_M_and_D.jpgAcknowledge and Support the Importance of Your Ex’s Parenting Role

Your ex may have been a lousy husband, but if he indeed loves his kids, he may be a good father.

For the emotional well being of your children, they need to have regular contact from their father and they need to know that you amicably support his role. Children do NOT need to be caught in the middle. They still love both parents and need to feel they have access to both, regardless of where they live.

If your children are old enough, ask them how often and how they wish to see their father. Talk to your ex calmly about the same requests. Show him you want to co-parent and open the lines of communication.

It will not only make your children's lives a lot easier, but also yours.
